Dear Fellow Rotarian:

Welcome to the 2026–2027 Rotary Year! As we celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Guatemala Literacy Project, we’re grateful for three decades of making education and opportunities accessible to Guatemalan youth.

Together, we can build on that legacy so that students not only dream of a better future but truly believe it’s within their reach.

The following report includes details about the GLP’s most exciting happenings this year (spanning multiple Global Grants):
  • A complete list of clubs, districts, and matching funds that will help make Global Grant #2578323 a success. THANK YOU to all of you! And a special thank you to the sponsor clubs Guatemala Vista Hermosa and Fruita, Colorado.
  • A list of Rotary clubs supporting Rise Youth Development Program Scholars.
  • A list of beneficiaries, photos, & thank you letters from the Textbook, Computer, Spark, and Rise Programs that are benefiting from your recent support of the GLP.
  • Special reports on the GLP’s new workforce readiness initiative and our visit to the Calgary Convention.
  • Financial reports on Global Grant spending in the past two years.

Are you and your club ready to see how we can spread the hope of a better future to even more rural Guatemalan youth?

The GLP invites you to join us in 2026-2027 to:

  • Fill out this form TODAY to pledge your club’s support for the 2026-2027 GLP Global Grant #2694025, sponsored by the Rotary Clubs of Leavenworth, WA, and Ciudad de Guatemala.
  • Join a special GLP Project Tour celebrating the GLP’s 30th anniversary, from February 7-14, 2027.

If you had the good fortune to participate in the RI Convention in Calgary, you know that it provided countless opportunities for conversation and fellowship with Rotarians from around the world, all of us “united for good.” As the GLP team shares in the enclosed report, “Seeing thousands of individuals come together in one place, united by service, was a powerful reminder of what collective action can achieve… Our team felt deeply motivated to continue strengthening partnerships and expanding impact, working toward a vision of a Guatemala transformed through education.” Thank you all for your club and district efforts to make this vision a reality.

Yours in Rotary,

Oscar Saenz Wirtz
