In recognition of Indigenous Peoples’ Day this October, we celebrate the Indigenous students, families, educators, and community leaders who are at the heart of the Guatemala Literacy Project.
For nearly three decades, Rotarians have partnered with communities across Guatemala to expand access to the educational tools students need to build their own futures—from books and reading instruction to technology and opportunities to stay in school through graduation.

At the center of that work are local educators, families, and leaders who help ensure GLP programs respond to the needs of their communities and create impact that lasts.
This spirit of partnership is also what makes Rotary so powerful. Creating meaningful change doesn’t always start with a major fundraiser or a large club contribution.
Sometimes, it starts with one Rotarian sharing a story and inviting someone else to be part of it.
This October, we invite you to help grow the GLP community through grassroots fundraising. Whether it’s a new club pledge or a DDF match, every contribution helps us build the support needed for Global Grant #2694025.
A few simple ways your club and members can help:
- Share a short GLP update or student story at your next club meeting.
- Invite a neighboring Rotary club to learn about the GLP.
- Share GLP with friends, family, or colleagues who care about literacy and education.
Every conversation has the potential to introduce someone new to the GLP. And when Rotarians across the world mobilize their clubs, friendships, and professional networks, those individual actions add up to something much bigger: more students with the opportunity to read, learn, graduate, and shape their own futures.
Thank you for continuing to put “Service Above Self” into action and for standing alongside communities in Guatemala as they create lasting educational change.
Ready to help? Share the GLP with one new person or club this month and invite them to join us in supporting Global Grant #2694025.
